Titus Groan: The Tower of Flints limited edition giclèe art print

From Titus Groan, Mervyn Peake’s second book in his Gormenghast series. Produced in 1988 to appear in Matthews’ 1990 calendar ‘Storybook Collection’. It seemed the perfect opportunity for Matthews to paint a cascade of exaggerated barn owls. The sprawling Gormenghast can be seen behind the Tower of Flints.  The image was later licensed for the 2003 Keyboards Wizards: The Ultimate Anthology DVD featuring Keith Emerson, Jon Lord, Rick Wakeman and more.
