Sarah Matthews
Studio Manager — Graphic Designer — Author

Born, in 1979, in Peterhead, Scotland, Sarah Matthews (nee Norris) has always enjoyed studying and learning, taking on any subject as a challenge and achieving a successful outcome.
She worked in administration and accounts for six years before making the decision to pursue further education. She earned an HNC in Business Administration and Information Management and then, at the University of Aberdeen, she earned a Master ofArts with Honours for her undergraduate study in Language & Linguistics and Philosophy and a Master of Letters with Distinction for her postgraduate study in Philosophy. She also spent three years studying at doctoral level, but found that the role of tutor and lecturer that came with the responsibility, to be more enjoyable than the study itself!
Sarah's role in Rodney Matthews Studios is multi-faceted, as Rodney says, "I just do the drawings, Sarah does everything else!" As Studio Manager, Sarah is the accountant, the salesperson, the spokesperson, the event manager, the negotiator and the deal-maker. Under the training of Rodney she is now a proficient Graphic Designer, handling all requirements for computer generated graphics and design for album covers, books, calendars and so on. Sarah recalls feeling pretty miffed at secondary school, when her guidance teacher advised her not to study graphic communication, suggesting instead that she take the home economics course — "you'll be much better off learning how to make a pie for your husband!" Sarah studied both and now ,in addition to her graphic design work winning awards in both the calendar and book industries, she can also make a rather good pie! Sarah has also been awarded for her voiceover work for the couple's children's animation Yendor — The Journey of a Junior Adventurer and penned the two children's books Yendor — The Land of the Googolsaurs and Oddney's Otherland: Chronicles from Beneath the Shed — In Search of the Two-Headed Firedrake.
