The Forgotten Beasts of Eld original pencil drawing

A signed original pencil drawing on tracing paper from 1978.  Titled 'The Forgotten Beasts of Eld', as in the name of the Patricia A McKillip novel for which Avon Books (New York City) commissioned it as cover art. The colour version was quite the experiment for Matthews, using a palette not characteristic of his usual work.

Authentication is provided by an accompanying certificate of authenticity, which will be "genuine original artwork" stamped, dated and hand-signed by Rodney Matthews.

Measures 497 (h) x 576 (w) mm, inclusive of mount.

Two creases are visible where the paper had been previously fold.  A small hole/tear is visible in the upper right hand corner.  The condition is reflected in the price.
