DESCRIPTION
Designed for Pace-Minerva as poster in 1981. Matthews was influenced by one of his father's paintings of a stag and also by some spectacular photos of the Himalayas in a book he had to hand. In 1981, FM Records, UK, licensed the image for use on a Magnum compilation album utilising the name Mirador. It was later used as the front cover for Matthews' 1983 calendar.

This was the cover of the first album by Magnum, I ever bought. Looking at it takes me back to those years and more, I often used to look at this image and imagine what that world would be like. I still do, there’s so much more detail in my new print compared to a cassette cover and to have it signed by the artist that created it is something special.
Thank you Rodney for your stunning artwork , just-as-magnificent signature AND the personalised message! I was gobsmacked and delighted! I could not have wished for a better 50th birthday present!
Beautiful cover artwork for "Magnum Mirador" album. Made me buy this album in the 80ies,which made me fall in love with Magnum the band, too.
