Captain Lockheed and The Starfighters: Ejection original pencil drawing

'Ejection' is an original pencil drawing on textured art board from 1973.  Commissioned by United Artists as cover art for the 7-inch single vinyl of the same name by Captain Lockheed and The Starfighters (Robert Calvert, Nik Turner, Paul Rudolph, Lemmy, Del Dettmar, Simon King and Twink). Normally Matthews' pencil drawings are followed by a coloured painting but not here.  In this case, the pencil piece itself is the finished artwork, making it a rarity.  The colour came at the printing stage, where it was printed in purple with a further pink overlay.  

Authentication is provided by an accompanying certificate of authenticity, which will be "genuine original artwork" stamped, dated and hand-signed by Rodney Matthews.
