A signed original pencil drawing on tracing paper from 1980. Titled 'The Chequered Floor', the image is from the short story Elric at the End of Time, a collaboration between Matthews and Michael Moorcock.
Authentication will be provided by an accompanying certificate of authenticity; "genuine original artwork" stamped, dated and hand-signed by Rodney Matthews.
Visible paper size measures 371 (h) x 268 (w) mm. Upon purchase, artwork will be mounted and backed increasing the size of the finished product.
A single crease is visible across the image. Piece cut from bottom right-hand corner. The condition is reflected in the price.

I grew up with Rodney’s art, being introduced to his Mirador calendar in 1983, aged 10. His paintings helped me cope with a very difficult time in my life. When I got the chance to own an original piece, I couldn’t decline it.
My wife bought this for my 50th a few years ago and it’s wondrous. A perfect example of his work, clear and in great condition. Thanks Rodney!
