Regular price Sale price £57.50 GBP

'The Heavy Metal Hero' one of Matthews’ most popular and enduring images.  Inspired by his father's working model of The Flying Scotsman, the now iconic train was originally designed for a poster.  It was later licensed by Silmarils as the cover art for their video game Transarctica, then by Diamond Head for their 'Am I Evil?' album cover, and then by Ride, as one of ten Matthews designs to appear on their snowboards.  Most recently, the image inspired a track for Matthews' album Trinity.  Available in two sizes -

Stunning, it will dominate a wall. And the phrase stare at the wall will have a new meaning for me.
This was the reason most folk I know bought Transartica, back when box art and manuals you read were a thing!

Beautiful print

Beautiful print from one of the most important albums to me, which got me into British rock/metal. Can't wait to get it on my wall.

Heavy Metal Hero

Trust me guys.... the computer screen , no matter how good your's is... does not do this poster print justice. 100% better live in person. I got the big one and there is no way i would have got anything but the biggest one of THIS print. I have long been fixated on this image as when you first look at it - its like "wow look at the cool train" then your eye scrolls down and the order of magnitude of the scale of the train is like 1000% times vs the man standing there. To me this image represents everything i think of when i think of heavy metal - slammin at you non-stop metal in your face! It helps that i like Diamond Head as well, HA! If you are on the fence about splurging for the big one.... treat yourself ,,, you wont regret it!
