Elric of Melniboné: The Dragon Lord limited edition giclèe art print

Regular price £120.83 GBP
Regular price Sale price £120.83 GBP

A limited edition print to mark the 40th anniversary of the classic artwork 'The Dragon Lord'.

Commissioned by Big O Posters (UK/Germany/USA) in 1976, this image formed part of a set of twelve Michael Moorcock-inspired illustrations which were published as posters and in the calendar 'Wizardry and Wild Romance'.  Matthews says that Moorcock was a joy to work with, offering design suggestions but never dominating the art. Of the twelve, 'The Dragon Lord' was among the most popular and seemed to epitomise at a stroke - of Elric's runesword Stormbringer perhaps - the essence of the Eternal Champion epoch.

The image was later licensed by Roxxcalibur for their 2011 album Lords of the NWOBHM.

    Elric never looked so good!

I can but echo Tim Q's thoughts in his review. I had the poster - and quite a few other Big O Rodney ones - but the quality of this print is stunning. Signed, limited, my favourite of Rodney's paintings - too good to miss. Quick delivery, kept notified - couldn't be more pleased, thanks.

Elric and Moonglum and Tanelorn would be very tempting too if they become available!

    Exceptional quality!

Having had a poster of the Dragon Lord on my wall since the late 80s/early 90s, finding out I could own a print of it was an opportunity too good to pass up. As a poster, it's good. As a print Amazing. The quality is everything and more I expected.
